Title: Wooden swing sets
Author: Robyn Johnson
Article:
I recommend that you go look at the Swing 'n Slide kits you
can get at your local home center. They sell you the plans and
the hardware, including swings, slide, etc. You go out and get
the wood yourself and build it yourself or have someone do it
for you. They are considerably cheaper than a comparable wooden
set would be if you bought it from one of the manufacturers.
I don't like the metal
swing sets, at all, I didn't even consider them. The plastic stuff
you mention seems nice but too cramped together and can you
really expand them later? Also, they don't seem that they would
work very well for older kids, while our 24' Swing 'n Slide
kit is adaptable for older kids (just get different stuff to
hang on it).
